One of life’s luxuries is to draw a bath, pour myself a glass of red wine, and then lie back and listen to an album from beginning to end. Enveloped in musical mist, I let songs slide up and down my skin, and imagine all the souls who’ve poured their lives into them. I envision bubbles of personal experience strung together like pearls and then cast back in to the collective unconscious, where they sink beneath oceans of time and space, resurfacing as sonic treasures.

I also like to dream about the album that I am creating, one keyboard or writing practice at a time; I imagine you listening to it, just as I listen to the songs of others, ears quenched by the liquid laughter of mermaid muses. There we are, you and I, sharing a moment over a glass of wine, both of us soaking in the slippery solace of Source, sound waves lapping at our toes, all the worry washed from our worlds.

And when my voice sprinkles from your speakers, maybe you notice the late afternoon sun skipping across your floor, its buttery flutter of a dance renewing itself as brilliantly and hopefully as night breathes life back into honey-dawn’s mouth. Morning catches fire, the sky is crowned with amber, and the day bursts into bloom with pomegranate promise.
